Board Agreement

K-9 Country Lodge Boarding Agreement

This is a contract between K-9 Country Lodge (hereinafter called “Lodge”) and the pet owner whose signature appears below (hereinafter called “Owner”). We will provide the very best care to all guests that stay at our Lodge.

  1. Owner agrees to pay in full upon pick-up of pet, the rate for boarding in effect on the date your pet was checked into the Lodge.
  2. Owner further agrees to pay all costs and charges for special services requested, and all veterinary costs incurred for the pet during the time your pet is in the care of the Lodge.
  3. The Lodge is not responsible for loss of any pet items that have been left with your pet during its stay.
  4. By signing this Contract and leaving your pet with the Lodge, Owner certifies to the accuracy of all information given.
  5. The Lodge shall exercise reasonable care for your pet delivered to the Lodge for boarding. It is expressly agreed by Owner and Lodge that Lodge’s liability shall in no event exceed the lesser of the current value of the pet of the same species or the sum of $400.00 per animal boarded. We realize there is no dollar amount that could ever compensate for the loss of your companion, however, it was necessary for us to set the above policy. The Owner further agrees to be solely responsible for any and all acts or behavior of their pet while it is in the care of the Lodge.
  6. Owner specifically represents that he/she is the sole owner of the pet, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances.
  7. Owner specifically represents to Lodge that the pet has not been exposed to rabies or distemper within a thirty-day period prior to boarding.
  8. Owner hereby certifies that their pet is in good health and has not been ill with any communicable disease in the last 30 days. It is the Owner’s responsibility to notify the Lodge of any exposure of their pet to any communicable disease.
  9. If pet becomes ill or if the state of the animal’s health otherwise requires professional attention, the Lodge, in its sole discretion, may engage the services of a veterinarian or administer medicine or give other requisite attention to the animal, and the expenses thereof shall be paid by the Owner.
  10. Owner must provide written proof from a veterinarian that all the pet’s inoculations are current for the following: Cats: Distemper-Rhino-Calici and Rabies; Dogs: Rabies, DHLPPC, and Bordetella. (It is a state law that your pet must have a rabies vaccine if over 3 months of age.) All inoculations must have been received at least 7 days prior to time of check-in to the Lodge to be fully effective. We will not assume responsibility for any disease preventable by vaccine.
  11. K-9 Country Lodge reserves the right to refuse any pet that does not meet the prerequisites. We also refuse to accept any animal that has proven to be vicious, destructive or unmanageable in boarding situations.
  12. Owner further certifies that their pet has not harmed or shown aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or other animal. Owner assumes all liability for damages or injuries caused by their pet.
  13. In placing my pet under the care of K-9 Country Lodge it is understood that K-9 Country Lodge assumes no responsibility for the loss or injury of my pet other than situations where the Lodge is deemed to be solely negligent. I do hereby release all owners and employees of the Lodge from all liabilities for damage occasioned by loss, injury or illness as above set forth.
  14. This Contract contains the entire agreement between the parties. All terms and conditions of this Contract shall be binding on the heirs, administrators, personal representatives and assigns of the Owner and the Lodge.
  15. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach thereof, or as the result of any claim or controversy involving the alleged negligence by any party to this contract, shall be settled in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by an arbitrator may be entered in any Court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitrator shall, as part of this award, determine an award, to the prevailing party of the costs of such arbitration and reasonable attorney’s fees of the prevalent party.
  16. Owner agrees to follow all posted rules and regulations.
  17. This agreement is valid for all future stays at K-9 Country Lodge unless it is rescinded by either party.
